For maximum player compatibility and a predictable bitrate, use ffmpeg -i input.mk3d -map 0:a:0 -vn -ac 2 -c:a libmp3lame -b:a 192k output.mp3. If the source contains no audio stream, FFmpeg cannot create a meaningful MP3.
