How to convert rx2 to mp3

There is usually no direct RX2-to-MP3 export in most converters. The practical workflow is to open the RX2 file in a compatible audio application, render it to a standard waveform file if needed, and then export or convert that audio to MP3.

Good desktop options include ReCycle for direct RX2 handling, Reason for working with loop content in the Propellerhead/Reason ecosystem, and other DAWs or editors that can import the file or open a rendered WAV version. Ableton Live can work with loop audio, but RX2 support depends on version and workflow, so do not assume native RX2 import in every setup. Audacity is useful for MP3 export after you have a standard audio file, but it does not natively open RX2 files.

If you only need a quick conversion and do not need slice preservation, reputable online converters such as CloudConvert or Convertio may work if they accept RX2 input. Upload the file, choose MP3 as the output, and download the result. However, online tools may have file size limits and will not preserve RX2 loop metadata.

Quality and limitations

RX2 slice and tempo data do not carry over to MP3. The output becomes a normal audio file, so the loop is flattened into a fixed waveform rather than an editable sliced loop. If the source loop depends on tempo mapping, make sure it is rendered at the correct project tempo before exporting. For best quality, export from the source at the original sample rate and use a high MP3 bitrate. If you need to keep loop-editing features, WAV is usually a better choice than MP3.
