Converting SketchUp Documents directly to 3ds Max Scene Files (.skp to .max conversion) should be possible using the 3ds Max program itself, since it allows users to load/import .skp files, and export them as .max, or .3ds file types. Should you be using older versions of 3ds Max, you might have to use a special importer.
In case you don't have access to any Autodesk utility, try searching for some third-party software, or conversion tool.
