How it works

Upload one or more audio files and choose the bitrate. You get an MP3 at that bitrate; an MP3 that would not get any smaller is returned unchanged.

96 kb/s is plenty for speech, podcasts and audiobooks; 128 to 160 kb/s suits music.
Mono halves the size again and suits recordings of a single voice.
Any common format goes in (WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WMA…), an MP3 comes out.
