How to convert SKP to GEM

Direct conversion from SKP to GEM is not natively supported by most software, as these formats serve different industries. However, you can achieve this conversion through an intermediate format, such as OBJ or STL, which are widely supported by both SketchUp and jewelry design software.

Step-by-step conversion process

1. Open your SKP file in SketchUp.
2. Export the model to a common 3D format:
   • Go to File → Export → 3D Model.
   • Select OBJ or STL as the export format.
   • Click Export to save the file.
3. Open the exported file in Gemvision Matrix or RhinoGold.
4. Import the OBJ or STL file:
   • Go to File → Import and select your exported file.
5. Once imported, save or export the model as a GEM file:
