Understanding MP4 and AAC file formats

The MP4 file format, also known as MPEG-4 Part 14, is a digital multimedia container format most commonly used to store video and audio. It can also store other data such as subtitles and still images. MP4 is highly versatile and widely used due to its ability to compress files without significant loss of quality.

On the other hand, AAC (Advanced Audio Codec) is a standardized, lossy compression and encoding scheme for digital audio. It is designed to be the successor of the MP3 format, offering better sound quality at similar bit rates. AAC is commonly used in streaming services and is the default audio format for many devices and platforms.

How to convert MP4 to AAC

Converting an MP4 file to an AAC file involves extracting the audio track from the video file and saving it in the AAC format. This process is useful when you want to save only the audio portion of a video file for playback on audio-only devices or applications.
