Notes on quality, compatibility, or limitations

FBX to ABC is not a one-to-one conversion. Alembic is mainly a cache format, so some FBX features may not transfer as expected. In particular, materials, rig controls, cameras, lights, and editable skeleton behavior may be reduced, baked, or omitted depending on the software and export settings.

This conversion is best when you want to preserve final animated geometry rather than a fully editable rig. If your FBX contains character rigs or complex scene logic, consider whether you need an Alembic cache or a different interchange format instead. Also note that Alembic files can become large because animation is often baked frame by frame.
