1. Open a 3D application that supports both formats, such as Blender.
2. Import the glTF file using File → Import → glTF 2.0.
3. Check the imported model, materials, scale, and animation timing.
4. If needed, apply or bake animation so the scene is ready for cache export.
5. Export to Alembic using File → Export → Alembic (.abc).
6. Choose the desired frame range, transform options, and whether to export only selected objects.
7. Save the resulting .abc file.

Notes on quality and limitations

Geometry and animation usually convert better than materials. If the glTF file contains skeletal animation, morph targets, or complex PBR materials, the export may require baking or simplification before conversion. Also, Alembic is typically used for static or animated caches, so interactive scene behavior from glTF will not carry over. For best results, verify the exported .abc in the target application and compare scale, orientation, and animation playback.
