Notes on quality and compatibility

TS to OGV is usually a lossy conversion because the video and audio are typically re-encoded into Theora and Vorbis. That means some quality loss is expected, especially if the source is already compressed. To preserve quality, use a higher video quality setting or bitrate, but keep in mind that OGV files are generally less efficient than modern formats such as MP4 with H.264/H.265 or WebM with VP8/VP9/AV1.

Compatibility is another important factor. OGV support is not universal in modern players and browsers, so confirm that your target devices or applications can open Ogg/Theora media.
