Quality and compatibility limitations
The PNG’s resolution is set during export, not determined by the map’s editability. A large map can produce an extremely wide or tall image that is difficult to read on screen, while a low export scale can make text and connectors blurry. Increase the scale or resolution when available, check the complete image for clipped content, and split a large map into separate sheets when a single image becomes impractical.
A workbook with multiple sheets cannot become one PNG with independently navigable pages; export each sheet separately when needed. Exported images may also omit attachments, hidden elements, comments, or information that is not part of the visible map. Keep the original .xmind file for future editing. For very large diagrams or print production, PDF or a vector export may retain detail better than PNG, if the XMind version provides that option.
