Large maps need a large pixel width; scaling them down too far makes topic text unreadable. JPEG quality settings reduce artifacts but cannot restore detail lost during export or resizing. PNG is often better than JPEG for maps containing dense text, sharp lines, or transparent backgrounds, while JPEG is more suitable when smaller files and broad image compatibility matter. Export behavior can differ between XMind releases, and very large maps may be clipped, rearranged, or made difficult to read, so inspect the output at its intended display or print size. Keep the original .xmind file for later editing.
