STR is a video format previously used on Sony Playstation and as such it is not that easy to playback these files on desktop computers. Some multimedia converters like SUPER supposedly support STR format and this might be all you need to achieve export to Matroska MKV, aka str to mkv conversion. Except for that, we do not know about any other software capable of such conversion or export.
