BMP (Bitmap Image File) is a raster graphics file format used to store bitmap digital images. Its simplicity and broad compatibility characterize it, making it a common choice for storing high-quality, uncompressed images in Windows environments.

JEF is a file format used by Janome embroidery machines. It contains stitching patterns and guides the sewing needle during the embroidery process. JEF files are crucial for those who use embroidery machines to create fabric designs.

How to convert BMP to JEF

Converting a BMP file to a JEF file involves transforming a bitmap image into an embroidery file format. This process requires specialized software to interpret and convert the image into stitch data.

The recommended software for this conversion is SewArt. SewArt allows users to convert various image files into embroidery files, including the BMP to JEF conversion.

Steps to convert BMP to JEF using SewArt

  1. Open SewArt and select File → Open to load your BMP file.
