What the EMF format is

What the JEF format is

JEF is the native stitch format used by many Janome and Elna embroidery machines. It stores needle movements, jumps, trims where supported, color-change positions, and design size information for machine loading.

JEF is useful when the destination machine accepts .jef files directly through USB, removable media, or embroidery-management software. It is a machine format rather than a fully editable design format; object-level editing, lettering properties, and some thread metadata can be lost during export.
