We can't read PEZ files yet, so this conversion isn't available. If you can export your work to one of these formats, we'll turn it into PPT:

How to convert pez to ppt file

A recipient, presentation system, or archive may require an editable Microsoft PowerPoint file instead of a legacy Prezi package. Because Prezi does not provide a direct PEZ export to PowerPoint, the workable process is to export the presentation to PDF and convert that PDF to PPTX or PPT.

What the PEZ format is

PEZ is a legacy Prezi presentation package used by Prezi Desktop. It contains the Prezi canvas, frames, presentation path, media references, and other data needed to display the presentation offline. You may encounter it in downloaded presentations or archives created with older Prezi software.

PEZ is not a PowerPoint-compatible document. Microsoft PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress, and Google Slides cannot normally open it directly; a compatible legacy Prezi Desktop application is required. Current Prezi software may not open every older PEZ file, so preserve the original file and locate a version of Prezi Desktop that supports it if necessary.

What the PPT format is

PPT is the binary Microsoft PowerPoint presentation format used by PowerPoint 97 through PowerPoint 2003. It stores slides, text, images, charts, speaker notes, animations, transitions, audio, and video, and remains useful when an older presentation system or document-management workflow specifically requires .ppt.

Modern PowerPoint normally uses .pptx, which supports newer features and usually produces better conversion results. Convert to .pptx first, then use File → Save As → PowerPoint 97–2003 Presentation (*.ppt) only when the recipient or system requires the older format.

How to convert the file

1. Open the PEZ file in compatible Prezi software.

  1. Install or launch a legacy Prezi Desktop version that supports PEZ.
  2. Use File → Open and select the .pez file. Sign in only if that Prezi version requires it.
  3. Check every frame, the presentation path, images, and embedded media. Content that depended on an online source may be unavailable in the offline package.

2. Export the presentation as PDF.

Choose the available Prezi command, commonly File → Export PDF or Download → PDF. The exact menu depends on the Prezi version. The PDF follows the presentation path and normally places frames or path steps on separate pages; it does not preserve the original zoomable canvas as editable PowerPoint objects.

3. Convert the PDF to PowerPoint.

For desktop conversion, open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro and select Export a PDF → Microsoft PowerPoint → PowerPoint Presentation. Save the result as presentation.pptx, inspect it in PowerPoint, and save a copy as .ppt if required.

For nonconfidential files, Adobe Acrobat's online PDF-to-PowerPoint converter is a suitable browser-based alternative. CloudConvert can also process the PDF, but available output types and support for legacy .ppt may vary. These services convert PDF to PowerPoint; they do not open PEZ files, so the Prezi export remains necessary. Do not upload confidential presentations to a third-party service.

Quality and compatibility limits

  • Prezi's zooming, canvas navigation, rotations, and animated path behavior become a sequence of slides and do not remain interactive.
  • PDF conversion may rebuild text and graphics as separate objects, causing fragmented text boxes, changed line breaks, substituted fonts, or shifted positioning.
  • Video, audio, interactive elements, web content, hyperlinks, and unsupported fonts may be missing or nonfunctional after conversion.
  • PDF pages containing scanned or rasterized text may become images rather than editable text; optical character recognition can help, but requires manual checking.
  • Review every slide in PowerPoint, including fonts, images, page order, speaker notes, and media. Recreate important animations or highly editable slides manually.
  • Renaming presentation.pez to presentation.ppt does not convert the file; the internal formats are unrelated.
