It stores the map hierarchy, topics, relationships, formatting, notes, hyperlinks, and other map data in a form intended for continued editing in EdrawMind. You typically encounter EMMX files when someone sends an EdrawMind project or when a map is saved from the EdrawMind desktop application.
What the PPT format is
PPT is Microsoft PowerPoint's legacy presentation format, associated with PowerPoint 97–2003. It stores content as presentation slides and is useful when the recipient needs to open, present, or revise the result in Microsoft PowerPoint or compatible software such as LibreOffice Impress. PowerPoint's newer default format is PPTX; some converters export PPTX instead of PPT, which can be resaved as PPT when legacy compatibility is required.

Quality and compatibility limitations
An EMMX mind map is not automatically equivalent to a slide deck. EdrawMind may distribute main branches across slides or convert the map into a presentation outline, so review slide breaks, branch order, text overflow, fonts, images, hyperlinks, and speaker notes after export. The PPT file contains presentation objects rather than EdrawMind's native map structure; editing it will not preserve every mind-map feature.
For the best result, install the fonts used by the source map before exporting, check the presentation at its intended screen size, and resave it in PPT only when compatibility with older PowerPoint versions is necessary. PPT conversion can alter newer effects and unsupported objects more readily than PPTX.
