Notes on quality and limitations

TIF to TXT is not a simple format change; it is a content extraction task. The quality of the TXT output depends heavily on scan resolution, image clarity, font style, language support, and whether the page is rotated or distorted. Tables, columns, signatures, stamps, and page layout are often lost or flattened into plain text. Handwriting recognition is usually less accurate than printed text recognition. If the TIF contains multiple pages, the resulting TXT may combine them into one continuous text file unless the OCR tool offers page separators. For best results, use a clean 300 DPI or higher scan and proofread the output after conversion.
