Understanding PMD and PMM file formats

PMD files are associated with Adobe PageMaker, a desktop publishing software used for creating high-quality publications such as brochures, newsletters, and reports. These files contain formatted text, images, and layout information.

PMM files, on the other hand, are used by Pegasus Mail, an email client. PMM files store email messages and related data. The two formats serve entirely different purposes, with PMD being for publishing and PMM for email management.

Converting PMD to PMM

Converting a PMD file to a PMM file is not a straightforward process due to their different functionalities. However, if you need to extract text or data from a PMD file to use in an email format, you can follow these steps:

1. Open the PMD file in Adobe PageMaker.
2. Use the File → Export option to save the content in a more universal format like PDF or RTF.
3. Open the exported file in a text editor or word processor.
4. Copy the desired content.
5. Open Pegasus Mail and create a new email message.
6. Paste the copied content into the email body.
7. Save the email, which will be stored as a PMM file.

Best software for conversion

For handling PMD files, Adobe PageMaker is the best choice, although it is an older software and might not be readily available. For converting the content to a more accessible format, you can use Adobe Acrobat to handle PDFs or Microsoft Word for RTF files. For managing PMM files, Pegasus Mail is the recommended software.
