OFM is an embroidery design format used by some embroidery software and machine ecosystems, while PES is the format commonly associated with Brother embroidery machines and many Brother-compatible devices. In some cases, conversion between embroidery formats is possible, but it depends on whether the software can read the stitch data in the source file and write it correctly to the target format.

Important: OFM is not a universally supported embroidery format, and Embroidermodder 2 is not a guaranteed solution for OFM to PES conversion. Support for OFM varies, and many converters cannot open every OFM variant. If the file cannot be opened directly, you may need the original embroidery software that created it.

If you can access the source program, try opening the OFM file and then use File → Save As or File → Export to create a PES file, if that format is available. If PES is not listed, the software may not support direct conversion, and you may need a different embroidery program or a digitizing tool that supports both formats.

When conversion is possible, check the output carefully. Stitch order, density, thread colors, hoop size, and machine settings can change during conversion, and some decorative or machine-specific features may not transfer correctly. Always preview the PES file in embroidery software before stitching it on a Brother machine.

Note: There is no universal online converter that reliably handles all OFM files. For best results, use software that explicitly supports both OFM and PES, and test the converted file on a sample design first.
