Notes on quality and compatibility

BWF is uncompressed, so converting to Opus is a lossy process. That means some audio detail is discarded to reduce file size. A common range is 96 kbps to 192 kbps, depending on content and quality needs.

Keep in mind that BWF metadata is generally not preserved in a simple audio transcode to Opus. Timecode, cue data, and production notes may be lost unless your workflow explicitly transfers metadata. Also, some older players do not support .opus files, so verify compatibility with your target devices or software before distributing the converted audio.
