Notes on quality and limitations

JPG to MD is not a direct format conversion in the usual sense. Since Markdown cannot store image pixels, the result depends entirely on how much readable text is present in the JPG. A photo with no text cannot be meaningfully converted to Markdown except as a description written manually.

OCR quality depends on image clarity, font size, contrast, skew, compression artifacts, and language support. Low-resolution or heavily compressed JPGs often produce recognition errors, especially with tables, columns, handwriting, or decorative fonts. After OCR, you should always proofread the output and restore headings, lists, links, and code blocks manually if you want valid Markdown.

If the JPG is actually a screenshot of a document, OCR can work well. If it is a photograph of a page taken at an angle or under poor lighting, preprocessing such as cropping, straightening, and increasing contrast can improve results before conversion.
