img to cdi conversion seems to be related to export between two disk image formats. It is certainly possible that disk images in CloneCD format (.img files) can be converted to DiscJuggler format (.cdi) with dedicated utilitles, for example the ISOBuster.
Just keep in mind that unless you need .cdi file for specific reasons, exporting to standard ISO is much better choice.
