BIN files, on the other hand, are a widely used binary disc image format. A BIN file is a sector-by-sector copy of the source disc, often accompanied by a CUE file that describes the track layout.

Why convert bws to bin?

Converting from BWS to BIN is often necessary when you want to use your disc image with software or emulators that only support the BIN/CUE format, which is more universally recognized than BlindWrite's proprietary format.

How to convert bws to bin

Since a BWS file is only a part of a complete BlindWrite disc image, you cannot convert a BWS file alone to a BIN file. You need the full set of BlindWrite files (usually BWI, BWT, and BWS). The conversion process involves combining these files into a single BIN/CUE image.

Recommended software for conversion

• UltraISO: This powerful tool can open BlindWrite images and save them as BIN/CUE. To convert, use File → Open to load the BWI/BWT/BWS set, then File → Save As and select BIN as the output format.
• PowerISO: Similar to UltraISO, PowerISO can import BlindWrite images and export them as BIN/CUE. Use File → Open and File → Save As for the conversion.
• AnyToISO: This tool can convert various disc image formats, including BlindWrite, to ISO, which can then be converted to BIN using other tools if needed.

Step-by-step conversion with UltraISO

1. Ensure you have all related BlindWrite files (BWI, BWT, BWS) in the same folder.
2. Open UltraISO and go to File → Open.
3. Select the BWT or BWI file (UltraISO will automatically use the BWS file if present).
4. Go to File → Save As and choose BIN as the output format.
5. Save the new BIN file and, if needed, a CUE file will be generated automatically.

Important notes

• You cannot convert a BWS file alone; you need the full BlindWrite image set.
• Always keep the BWS, BWI, and BWT files together during conversion.
• The resulting BIN file can be used with most emulators and disc burning software.
