Notes on quality and limitations

SVGZ and DXF are not equivalent formats, so conversion can be lossy. SVG features such as gradients, filters, clipping masks, transparency, embedded raster images, and advanced text styling may not translate well to DXF. Complex SVG artwork may be flattened, simplified, or partially lost during export.

DXF is best suited to line-based vector geometry. If the SVGZ contains artistic illustration rather than technical shapes, the DXF result may require cleanup in CAD software. Text is often converted to outlines for compatibility, which prevents later editing as text but improves reliability. Also, units and scale can differ between graphics and CAD applications, so always verify dimensions after conversion.

If the SVGZ was created for web or print design, expect some manual adjustment before it is usable in CAD, laser cutting, or CNC workflows. Simple logos, icons, and diagrams usually convert much better than richly styled artwork.
