Notes on quality and limitations

M4R is usually lossy AAC audio, so converting it to BWF does not restore lost quality; it only places the audio into a professional uncompressed container. The resulting BWF file will usually be much larger than the original M4R.

Some ringtone files may have short duration or unusual metadata, but that does not usually prevent conversion. However, if the source M4R is protected or damaged, conversion may fail.
