6. Review the result and adjust frame rate, size, or duration if needed. Lower frame rates and smaller dimensions usually produce better GIFs for the web.

Notes on quality and limitations

DivX to GIF conversion is inherently lossy. GIF cannot preserve video audio, and its 256-color limit can cause banding, dithering, or reduced visual quality, especially for gradients and dark scenes. Motion-heavy clips may look choppy unless you increase the frame rate, which also increases file size.

For best results, use a short, well-lit segment with simple colors and avoid long clips. If you need higher quality or smaller files for video playback, consider keeping the content in a video format instead of converting to GIF.
