SDOCX files are Samsung Notes documents, while SVG is a browser- and design-tool-friendly vector format. Conversion is useful when a note must be shared as scalable artwork, inserted into a web page, or opened by software that cannot read Samsung Notes files.

What the SDOCX format is

SDOCX is the document format used by Samsung Notes. Samsung Galaxy devices and the Samsung Notes application for Windows create these files when notes are saved or exported in Samsung’s native format. An SDOCX file can contain typed text, handwriting, drawings, images, document pages, and note metadata.

SDOCX is not the same format as Microsoft Word’s .docx. Its internal structure and rendering depend on Samsung Notes, so general office applications normally cannot open it directly or preserve every note element.

What the SVG format is

SVG is an XML-based vector-image format supported by web browsers, illustration applications, publishing tools, and many cutting or plotting systems. Lines, shapes, and text remain scalable without the pixelation associated with raster images.

SVG is suitable when the converted note is needed as artwork, a diagram, a web graphic, or an editable drawing. It is not a complete replacement for a multipage document format: one SVG normally represents one page or canvas, and document features such as Samsung Notes metadata, editable handwriting objects, and page navigation are not retained.

How to actually convert SDOCX to SVG

For a direct conversion without installing software, use the converter on 101convert.com:

  1. Open the SDOCX-to-SVG converter on 101convert.com.
  2. Upload the .sdocx file.
  3. Choose SVG as the output format and start the conversion.
  4. Download the resulting SVG file. If the note contains several pages, check whether the converter produces separate SVG files or a multipage result.

If direct conversion is unavailable for a particular SDOCX structure, first export the note as PDF from Samsung Notes:

  1. Open the file in Samsung Notes on a compatible Galaxy device or in the Samsung Notes Windows application.
  2. Use Menu → Save as file → PDF or the equivalent Share → PDF export command.
  3. Open the PDF in Inkscape. Use File → Open, select the required page, and confirm the PDF import settings.
  4. Save the imported page with File → Save As and choose SVG. Repeat the process for each page that needs its own SVG file.

For batch work, Inkscape can import and export pages from the command line; syntax varies by version, so verify the installed version’s help output before scripting. A typical current command is inkscape input.pdf --pdf-page=1 --export-filename=page-1.svg.

Quality and compatibility limitations

The result is usually a visual rendering rather than a semantically editable document. Typed text may become positioned SVG text or outlined paths, and handwriting may be converted into paths. Fonts unavailable on the conversion system can change appearance; embedding fonts or converting text to paths improves visual consistency but removes normal text editing and search.

Photographs, scans, and other raster content remain raster images inside the SVG, so SVG does not automatically improve their resolution. Transparent backgrounds, page dimensions, clipping, filters, and embedded images should be checked in a browser and in the intended editor.

Because SVG is generally page-oriented, export each SDOCX page separately when a downstream application expects one canvas per file. Keep the original SDOCX or PDF when Samsung Notes editing, searchable document text, annotations, or exact multipage archiving is required.
