ODS and OFX are fundamentally different formats, so a perfect one-click conversion is uncommon. ODS can store rich spreadsheet features such as formulas, formatting, merged cells, and multiple sheets, but OFX supports only structured financial data. That means most spreadsheet-specific features will be lost during conversion.

For best results, keep only the data needed for financial import: date, payee/description, amount, transaction type, and account details. Make sure dates use the correct locale and format, and verify whether amounts should be positive or negative for debits and credits. Also note that some finance applications accept only specific OFX variants or field sets, so the generated file may need adjustment before import.

If your ODS file is not financial data, converting it to OFX usually does not make sense. In that case, a different target format such as XLSX, CSV, or PDF is typically more appropriate.
