Free online ITT to LRC converter

Karaoke players and lyric apps commonly accept synchronized .lrc files but do not recognize Apple’s .itt subtitle files. Converting the file transfers each cue’s start time and text into the simpler LRC lyric format.

What the ITT format is

ITT, usually meaning iTunes Timed Text, is an Apple-oriented timed-text format based on XML and related to TTML. It stores caption or subtitle text together with cue start and end times, styling, positioning, language information, and other delivery metadata.

Apple subtitle-delivery tools, caption-authoring applications, and some professional localization systems create ITT files. You may encounter them in Apple media workflows or when exporting captions from software that targets iTunes or Apple video distribution.

What the LRC format is

LRC is a plain-text synchronized-lyrics format. Each lyric line begins with a timestamp such as [01:23.45], where the value represents minutes, seconds, and usually hundredths of a second:

LRC is supported by many karaoke players, music applications, portable players, and lyric-display tools. Its small size, simple syntax, and easy manual editing make it more suitable than ITT for song lyrics, but it cannot preserve most ITT styling or layout features.

How to actually convert ITT to LRC

The simplest option is the converter on 101convert.com, which can process the file for free without installing software:

1. Open 101convert.com and select the ITT-to-LRC conversion.
2. Upload the .itt file.
3. Choose LRC as the output format and start the conversion.
4. Download the resulting .lrc file and place it beside the audio file, using the same base name, for example song.mp3 and song.lrc.

For local conversion, use a subtitle editor that supports both iTunes Timed Text import and LRC export, such as Subtitle Edit when those formats are available in the installed version:

1. Open Subtitle Edit and choose File → Open, then select input.itt.
2. Check that cue text and start times appear correctly in the subtitle grid.
3. Choose File → Save as or File → Export, select LRC, and save the output as output.lrc.
4. Open the LRC file in a text editor and verify that timestamps use the expected [mm:ss.xx] form.

If the source contains captions rather than lyrics, remove speaker labels, sound-effect descriptions, and non-lyric cues before exporting. LRC has no standard field for those caption attributes.

Quality, compatibility, and limitations

ITT normally records both begin and end times, while standard LRC records only the start time. The conversion therefore retains when each line appears but discards its explicit duration; players display each line until the next timestamp or until the player applies its own behavior.

ITT styling, screen position, regions, karaoke spans, and metadata generally cannot be represented in basic LRC. Multiple ITT cues with identical or nearly identical start times may need manual merging, and a caption file may produce awkward lyric lines if its cues were designed for speech rather than singing.

Save the result as UTF-8 to preserve accented characters and non-Latin scripts. Test the file with the target player because some devices accept only two-digit centiseconds, while others accept three-digit milliseconds or support only basic timestamps.
