How to convert EASM to STE

Direct conversion from EASM to STE is not straightforward because EASM files are intended for viewing only and do not contain full CAD data. However, if you have access to the original CAD files (such as SolidWorks SLDASM or SLDPRT), you can export those to STEP format. If you only have the EASM file, you may need to request the original CAD file from the creator.

Best software for EASM to STE conversion

• SolidWorks: If you have the original SolidWorks assembly file, open it in SolidWorks and use File → Save As and select STEP (*.step, *.stp, *.ste) as the output format.
• eDrawings Professional: While eDrawings Viewer does not support exporting to STEP, eDrawings Professional may allow exporting to other formats if the file permissions allow it. Use File → Save As and check available export options.
• Autodesk Fusion 360: Import the original CAD file (not EASM), then use File → Export and choose STEP as the format.

Note: If you only have the EASM file and not the original CAD file, conversion to STE is generally not possible due to the limited data in EASM files.
