It seems that the only way to import Pagemaker documents (.pmd) to Adobe Photoshop and save them as .psd files, seems to be to first save your .pmd files as PDF using (this requires access to PageMaker though) and then importing the .pdf document to Photoshop so you can work with it. Unfortunately, we do not know about any pmd to psd converter or other program that can be used for pmd to psd conversion.

Understanding PMD and PSD file formats
The PMD file format is primarily associated with Adobe PageMaker, a desktop publishing software used for creating high-quality publications such as brochures, newsletters, and reports. PMD files contain formatted text, images, and layout information.
On the other hand, the PSD file format is the native file format for Adobe Photoshop, a widely-used software for image editing and graphic design. PSD files support multiple layers, masks, and a variety of color modes, making them ideal for complex image editing tasks.
Why convert PMD to PSD?
Converting a PMD file to a PSD file can be beneficial if you need to edit the graphical elements of a PageMaker document using Photoshop's advanced tools. This conversion allows for enhanced image manipulation, layer management, and the application of various effects.
