Convert PDS to WVE

Understanding the pds and wve file formats

PDS files are typically associated with PowerDirector Script project files, used by CyberLink PowerDirector video editing software. These files store project information, including video edits, effects, and references to media files, but do not contain actual video or audio data.

WVE files are Wave Editor Project files, often created by CyberLink WaveEditor. They store audio editing project data, including applied effects and references to audio clips, but not the final audio itself.

Can you convert pds to wve directly?

Direct conversion from PDS to WVE is not possible because they are project files for different software and purposes—one for video editing and the other for audio editing. However, you can extract audio from a PowerDirector project and then edit it in WaveEditor, resulting in a WVE file.

How to extract audio from a pds file and create a wve file

1. Open your PDS project in CyberLink PowerDirector.
2. Export the audio track:
   • Go to Produce tab.
   • Select an audio-only format (such as WAV or MP3).
   • Click Start to export the audio file.
3. Open CyberLink WaveEditor.
4. Import the exported audio file (File → Import).
5. Edit the audio as needed.
6. Save the project as a WVE file (File → Save Project As).
