Understanding pds and abs file formats

PDS files are project files created by CyberLink PowerDirector, a popular video editing software. These files store information about video editing projects, including timelines, effects, and references to media files, but do not contain the actual video data.

ABS files are Audio Video Interleave (AVI) Video Segment files, commonly used in VCD and SVCD disc images. They contain multiplexed audio and video streams, typically used for playback on compatible hardware or software players.

How to convert pds to abs

Direct conversion from PDS to ABS is not possible because a PDS file is a project file, not a media file. To achieve this conversion, you must first produce or export your video project from PowerDirector to a standard video format (such as MPEG or AVI), and then convert that video file to the ABS format if needed.

1. Open your PDS project in CyberLink PowerDirector.
