Autodesk Inventor should accept 3D DWG files just fine, so you can use them to produce parts and assembly files (.iam). Unfortunately, it seems that the software is also the only reliable way to achieve dwg to iam conversion, because we do not have any information about any 3rd party apps that can be used to convert dwg to iam.
