How to perform the conversion

Notes on quality and limitations

RAW to VHDX conversion is usually lossless because both formats can preserve the same sector data, but the result depends on whether the source image contains a full disk, a single partition, or only selected sectors. If the RAW file is damaged, the converted VHDX will carry over those problems. Also, a RAW image does not store virtualization-specific metadata, so partition alignment, bootability, and disk geometry may need attention after conversion.
