Free online HTML to JPG converter

A JPG is needed when a web page must be uploaded to an image-only system, inserted into a document, shared as a fixed visual record, or archived without editable markup. The conversion renders the page's visible HTML, CSS, images, and script-generated content as one raster image.

What the HTML format is

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) structures web pages with headings, paragraphs, links, tables, forms, and embedded media. Browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari render HTML together with CSS and JavaScript; code editors, web-authoring software, and content-management systems create and save .html and .htm files.

An HTML file is not an image. Its appearance depends on the browser engine, viewport size, available fonts, linked stylesheets, scripts, and referenced image files. A saved page may therefore require its associated resource folder, or a self-contained version with embedded CSS and images.

What the JPG format is

JPG, also called JPEG, is a flattened raster image format that uses lossy compression. It is supported by browsers, phones, office applications, image editors, social platforms, and upload systems that do not accept HTML.

JPG is effective for rendered pages containing photographs, gradients, and other continuous-tone content. It usually creates a smaller file than an uncompressed screenshot, but it does not retain HTML structure, hyperlinks, selectable text, forms, animations, or interactive behavior. JPEG does not support transparency; transparent areas require a solid background.

Convert with the built-in converter

1. Open the HTML-to-JPG converter on 101convert.com. The conversion can be performed free without installing software.
2. Select or drag in the .html or .htm file.
3. If the page uses relative links to CSS, images, fonts, or scripts, preserve the required resource files. Upload a ZIP only if the converter accepts packaged websites; otherwise create a self-contained HTML file or use a local rendering method.
4. Choose JPG as the output format and start the conversion.
5. Open the downloaded image and check the page width, complete height, fonts, images, and text wrapping. Reconvert after changing the viewport or source resources if the result is incomplete.

Convert locally with wkhtmltoimage

wkhtmltoimage is a command-line renderer for local HTML files. A basic conversion is:

wkhtmltoimage --format jpg --quality 90 input.html output.jpg

Use an absolute file path or a file:// URL when relative resources are not found. The --quality setting normally accepts values from 0 to 100; higher values reduce JPEG artifacts while increasing file size. This renderer may differ from a current browser on modern CSS, external web fonts, JavaScript-heavy pages, and pages that restrict local-file access.

For a browser-faithful result, open the page in Chrome or another current browser at the required viewport and capture the rendered page with its developer screenshot tool. Browser full-page capture commonly produces PNG; convert that PNG to JPG in an image editor when a JPG file is required.

Quality and compatibility limits

• Set the intended viewport before rendering. A narrow viewport can activate mobile CSS, while a wider viewport can change line wrapping and page height.
• Long pages may produce extremely tall JPGs. If the destination limits image dimensions, render separate sections or use PDF for multipage content.
• Small text, thin lines, diagrams, and flat-color graphics can show compression artifacts. Use a quality setting around 90–95, or use PNG when sharp edges matter more than file size.
• Pages that load resources from the internet may render incompletely without network access. Local resources fail when their relative directory structure is missing or their paths are invalid.
• JavaScript-generated content must finish loading before capture. Cookie banners, animations, lazy-loaded images, and responsive components can change the output between runs.
• The result records appearance rather than document semantics. A JPG normally has no searchable or selectable text and cannot be edited as HTML.
