Unfortunately it appears that PDF documents cannot be imported to Sketchup to produce .skp drawings, except in the Mac version that can import PDF files as raster images. You will need some CAD drawings like DXF or DWG for Sketchup. Perhaps you could convert the graphics from PDF document to some vector graphics like SVG or DXF, which you ou can do that in programs like Inkscape, and then import that to SketchUp.

Understanding PDF and SKP file formats
PDF (Portable Document Format) is a versatile file format developed by Adobe that is used to present documents, including text and images, in a manner independent of application software, hardware, and operating systems. PDFs are widely used for sharing documents because they preserve the formatting of the original document.
SKP is the file format used by SketchUp, a 3D modeling software. SKP files contain 3D models and are used for architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, and other design projects. Converting a PDF to an SKP file involves transforming a 2D document into a 3D model, which can be a complex process.
How to convert PDF to SKP
Converting a PDF to an SKP file is not straightforward because it involves transforming a 2D document into a 3D model. However, there are methods and tools that can assist in this conversion process.
Best software for PDF to SKP conversion
One of the best ways to convert a PDF to an SKP file is by using SketchUp itself, along with a PDF to DWG converter. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Use a PDF to DWG converter like Any PDF to DWG Converter or AutoDWG PDF to DWG Converter to convert the PDF file into a DWG file.
- Open SketchUp and go to File → Import.
- Select the DWG file you converted from the PDF.
- SketchUp will import the DWG file, allowing you to work with the 3D model.
By using this method, you can effectively convert a PDF into an SKP file, although some manual adjustments may be necessary to achieve the desired 3D model.
