When converting, keep in mind that some SketchUp features may not translate perfectly into CAD, including materials, textures, components, shadows, tags/layers, and certain curved or grouped geometry. For best results, simplify the model before export and verify units, linework, and object organization after import into the CAD application.

If your target software supports it, you may also be able to open or import .skp files directly in some CAD and BIM applications without converting first.

Tip: if you only need a 2D drawing from SketchUp, export a scene or view as DXF or use a 2D graphic export instead of converting the full 3D model.
