Convert STEP to EASM

Currently the only software generating eDrawing files (.edrw, .easm) out of CAD drawings and other 3D files is SolidWorks, for instance files saved in the STEP format (.stp, .step). Other software like AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor and others require a specific eDrawings Publisher plugin allowing them to export CAD data to EASM format.

You can regard eDrawings as a form of PDF format for CAD. These files are meant for viewing and sharing only, not for editing. To open the files, a special eDrawings viewer is needed, which can be downloaded for free from the SolidWorks website.
