Convert EPRT to STEP

eDrawings files (EASM, EPRT, EDRW) from SolidWorks are used for the purpose of secured viewing and sharing and not for further editing or export. Thus, in aboslute majority of cases, eDrawings files cannot be converted or exported to any other format, simply due the fact that they  used as previews, much like PDF's in their purpose.

How to convert eDrawings files to STEP format

Ask the author

• Trying to obtain the source file from the author is probably the most convenient way how to solve this issue, but it is often not feasible. You might as well as the person who originally sent you the file, to export it to STEP format for you.

Using eDrawings Professional

• If you have access to eDrawings Professional (the paid version of eDrawings), you have more functionality than the free version, including the ability to save eDrawings files as STL and other formats suitable for 3D printing. Once you have STL format, it shouldn't be difficult to convert it to STEP format with one of the available stl to stp converters.

Using SolidWorks

• In case the eDrawings files were originally created from SolidWorks, the best way to export it to another format (such as STEP) is by using the original software itself. But you will need to obtain the original file first, in case of .eprt files, it is the .sldprt part file.
