We can't read BTD files yet, so this conversion isn't available. If you can export your work to one of these formats - or others - we'll turn it into WORD:

How to convert btd to word file

A recipient may require a Microsoft Word file to edit, comment on, or exchange a BTD document without Business-in-a-Box. Exporting also separates the editable copy from the proprietary source while preserving the original for later use.

What the BTD format is

In the Documents category, BTD normally means a document created by Biztree Business-in-a-Box. It can contain formatted text, tables, images, page layout, templates, and business forms such as contracts, letters, policies, and plans.

BTD is a proprietary document format. Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs, and text editors do not normally open it directly; renaming .btd to .doc or .docx changes only the filename and does not perform conversion.

What the WORD format is

WORD usually means a Microsoft Word document, normally .docx or the older .doc format. Word files support editing, comments, tracked changes, printing, and exchange with Microsoft Word and compatible office suites.

Choose .docx when the receiving software supports it. It is the current Office Open XML format; .doc is a legacy format used for compatibility with older Word versions.

How to convert BTD to Word

  1. Install and open the Biztree Business-in-a-Box version that created the file, or a newer version that supports the document.
  2. Select File → Open and open the .btd file.
  3. Inspect the document before exporting, including fonts, tables, images, headers, footers, page breaks, and form fields.
  4. Use the program's File → Save As or export command and select a Microsoft Word format. The available choice depends on the Business-in-a-Box version and may be .doc, .docx, or another intermediate format.
  5. Open the exported file in Microsoft Word. If the result is .doc, select File → Save As, choose Word Document (*.docx), and save a new copy.
  6. Check pagination, fonts, tables, images, and fields again after conversion. Replace missing fonts and repair any shifted elements before sharing the file.

If the installed Business-in-a-Box version has no Word export, copy the required content from its editor and paste it into Word, then rebuild tables, headers, footers, and form controls as needed. Copy and paste is a fallback, not a format conversion, and can discard layout and dynamic template features.

Online and alternative tools

No dependable general-purpose online service normally converts proprietary BTD files directly. Convert the file in Business-in-a-Box first; services such as CloudConvert or Zamzar may then process the exported .doc, .docx, or PDF file, but they cannot restore BTD-specific features that were lost during export.

Do not upload confidential contracts, client information, or business templates to an online converter unless the organization's security and retention requirements permit it. LibreOffice and Google Docs are useful for checking or editing an exported Word file, not for opening the original BTD file.

Quality and compatibility limits

Conversion can alter page breaks, fonts, line spacing, table dimensions, images, locked sections, Biztree-specific fields, and dynamic template content. Static text generally transfers more reliably than form controls, placeholders, and other Business-in-a-Box features.

Keep the original .btd file when future editing in Business-in-a-Box is required. Create a PDF as an additional copy when exact visual appearance matters more than editability; PDF preserves presentation better but is not a replacement for an editable Word document.
