3D Model data saved in textual form (mainly various ASCII formats in .txt files) can be usually converted to a polygon only version (.ply files). This can be done with various CAD / 3D modeling programs including the free Blender. But of course txt to ply conversion will only work on text files that contain 3D data, not just with any random text files.
