Free online SRW to JPG converter

Samsung cameras may save photographs as SRW RAW files, while websites, phones, and some editing or printing applications require JPG. Converting creates a smaller, widely compatible copy for sharing, previewing, web publishing, or everyday storage.

What the SRW format is

SRW is Samsung's RAW image format, used by Samsung NX and some earlier Samsung digital cameras. It stores largely unprocessed sensor data together with camera metadata, including exposure, lens, and white-balance information.

A compatible RAW processor can use that data to adjust exposure, highlights, shadows, white balance, sharpening, and noise reduction before rendering the finished image. SRW files are usually much larger than JPG files, and support varies by camera model, operating system, and application.

What the JPG format is

JPG, also called JPEG, is a raster image format supported by web browsers, phones, office software, photo-printing services, and most image viewers. Its lossy compression reduces file size by discarding some image information.

JPG is appropriate for finished photographs that need broad compatibility or quick sharing. It cannot preserve the full RAW adjustment latitude of the SRW file, and repeatedly editing and saving a JPG can add compression artifacts.

How to convert SRW to JPG

Using 101convert.com:

1. Open the SRW-to-JPG converter on 101convert.com; conversion is available without installing software.
2. Upload the .srw file and choose JPG or JPEG as the output format if it is not selected automatically.
3. Start the conversion and download the resulting .jpg file.

For private photographs, large batches, or images requiring RAW adjustments, use desktop software instead. Applications such as darktable, RawTherapee, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Camera Raw can open many SRW variants, but compatibility depends on the camera model and the software version.

Desktop conversion with darktable

1. Install a current version of darktable and import the SRW file through Lighttable → Import.
2. Open the photograph in the darkroom and adjust exposure, white balance, shadows, highlights, crop, sharpening, or noise reduction as needed.
3. Open darktable's export controls, select JPEG, choose the destination folder, and set the image quality. A quality setting around 90–95 is a reasonable starting point for photographs, although the exact scale depends on the application.
4. Click Export. The program writes a new JPG and leaves the SRW file unchanged.

For batch conversion, import multiple files, apply a consistent editing profile if required, select them for export, and process them together.

Desktop conversion with RawTherapee

1. Open the SRW file in RawTherapee and make the required RAW adjustments.
2. Send the image to the processing queue or use the save workflow.
3. Choose JPEG as the output format, select the destination folder, set the quality, and process the file.

Quality and compatibility settings

Correct exposure and white balance before export. Once rendered as JPG, clipped highlights and the original RAW adjustment range cannot be fully recovered.

Choose sRGB for JPGs intended for phones, browsers, general-purpose computers, or most online services. Use another color profile only when every application and printer in the workflow supports it.

Keep the camera's full pixel dimensions when maximum detail is needed. For email or web use, reducing the image dimensions usually saves more space than applying increasingly strong JPEG compression.

Keep the original SRW as the archival master. The JPG is a rendered, compressed copy rather than a reversible replacement, and some conversion tools may preserve only part of the camera metadata.

If a particular SRW file cannot be opened, try a current RAW processor or another supported application. Samsung cameras do not all produce identical SRW data, so a program that supports one model may not support another.
