Converting Google Sheets Shortcuts directly to Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets (.gsheet to .xlsx conversion) is, per se, not possible, since .gsheet files only contain a link reference to an actual Google Sheets document.
You can however use your .gsheet shortcut to open the Google Sheets document, and then download it as an .xlsx file using the 'File -> Download' function.
